A Sunday To Remember, A Dance On Water!
Sundays for my wife and I have this fall been such a very happy time. As a wildlife oil painter spring and fall is my super busy time, birds migrate in these seasons and with camera in hand I go into the field to learn and to record beautiful images, that can help me create very beautiful works of art. Some of u who love wildlife painting have seen my work develop here on FASO, starting my FASO website page in September of 2008. I remember feeling on top of the world, because, now I was now able to hang my artist's shingle out with a "For Sale" potential. Wow, talk about a great feeling. FASO Websites are terrific , with Clint Watson and all his staff, they have created a world class website for all artists, and this business keeps growing and getting better everyday. Thank YOU FASO!!!
On Sunday October 13, Marge and I packed up our long lens and camera and headed south about 75 miles to Sherburne NWR in Sherburne County,MN. We love this wildlife area and enjoy each unique field trip we take, always seeing something of great interest and bringing back stunning images to work on, helping to create new and exciting original Artisan Oils paintings on canvas. On this special Sunday morning, the light was perfect and the fall leaf foliage perfect for colorful landscape images too. We were in hopes of seeing sandhill cranes, we did see a few in field on HWY 7 going South on our way to Sherburne NWR, but when driving the Loop road we did not encounter any that day. Our delight for the day was seeing a pair of adult Trumpeter Swans, who were in a good range for my Nikon 200-500MM lens and so I was treated to a show by both swans and they were really celebrating that afternoon and appeared to be dancing on the surface of the water. This behavior is a part of a swan's preening and I titled this original Artisan Oils painting " Preening."
Have a great day and if you by chance live or are near, Sherburne NWR is a real joy to visit, so be sure you bring your camera. Thanks be.
