Called, " The Color Blue"

           Here in the northland spring can act more like winter, in the past 8 days we have had 16" of new snow more on the way today. However, our migrating birds have their own clock and come home. What do they do when the food is still scarce and not much open water? Like people they improvise too. They are ingenious and make their daily bread pulling on their ancient memory and still they prosper. A week ago Bubba dn I went to Crex Meadows, was only 36 degrees no open water yet we were surrounded by more than 40 Trumpeter Swans all either sitting on the snow covered ice or getting up and flying around the lake, to return to the same spot they left, in a way sort of a celebratory flight and a showing off their beautiful mate. Later when they have their family of precious cygnets all swimming in unison, they are the very best parents and rarely do they lose their young  and our flocks in Crex Meadows are growing steadily in numbers. Just as God wants to grow and to prosper, no hunting, they have all too often been hunted and almost to extinction. UGH! When are people going to stop, try to live and let live all things, includes all things, in peace and harmony.

My painting today is a pair of mated Trumpeter Swans in flight right over Bubba and my head   I painted this with my limited palette, on 9" x 12" x 1/2" wood board using Artisan Oils, Called " Spring Arrivals" and will post later this week on my eBay sale site, you can use my eBay button on my FASO website Main page, just click on it and you go directly to my eBay site of for sale original Artisan Oils paintings from Crex Meadows.
