2020 Oregon Duck Stamp

On Tuesday this week the 2020 Oregon Duck Stamp Competition was judged and as I learned there were 35 entries this year which for an off year due to COVID-19...still is excellent. In my case I learned about their program by accident and was so delighted because they accept all nonresidents to enter this competition too.

I did not win, but now I am so looking forward to next year as I will paint 3 duck stamps...yes the Oregon Duck Stamp as well in my State of Wisconsin and also the Federal Duck Stamp...wow for a wildlife painter does not get a lot better...so exciting...is all win win to me.

New Sennelier Oils and Artfix Belgium Linen Panel Made By Raymar

Since April I have been using Sennelier oils made in France and Artfix Belgium Linen made by Raymar starting in August and love this painting surface. Savoir Faire in Novato, CA and Raymar in Phoenix, AZ are my two supplies of these fabulous materials.

I used a limited color palette  painting my Great Blue Heron oil painting and the colors work so well together creating great harmony and unity. My colors are cad red lt, cad yell lemon, UMB lt, pthalogreem (warm), Azur blue, and madder brown. These Sennelier oils are very high quality 5-6 Series and create beautiful oil paintings.

If you have questions be sure to send, I will answer within a day. Thanks for following my blog posts.
