Whooping Cranes and Setting Moon say " Freedom"

In all my times spent in the wild watching and recoding so that I may then paint the vision and truth the birds are sharing with me. I want all who see my paintings to know that per my Quote, " As They Go So Go We" is a truth that does not change, no matter what culture, or country, our wildlife, while not directly controlled, are in harms way because of man's actions. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

This is an Artisan Oil painting, on 16" x 20" x 1 1/2" canvas, of a setting Moon in the West, with a rising sun in the East reflecting beautiful soft reds pinks on the whooping cranes in flight. Titled " Freedom" and here in USA our whooping cranes are only about 505 and are on the Endangered Species List without great care from now on, or we may loose them.

God's Art in the Sky, A Joy To Paint

Complteing my 28TH year as an oil painting has many long term benefits and as a painter I have barely begun. No tow days , hours, minutes , or seconds arte the same are they? What I have seen in nature has been a series of new and exciting images to work with in creating my original Artian oil painting. I was in Crex Meadows Wildlife Arae in October 2015 to see the sandhill cranes return to their roost in Crex Meadows and was treated to a really gorgeous sunset,  Tiled " A New Beginning " I simplied the painting and did not reproduce the imnage I was working with becuase simple is better. I may consider applying some grazes tomorrow I wait and see what I feel like tomorrow. Thx be.

I paint our Angels Here Now On Earth,Yes Our Wildlife

People through the ages have never been alone, starting at the very beginning, and as written in our good book ,the Bible, God created all the animals before man and woman. Man does not live by bread alone and has always depended on animals for his survival over the ages. Early cave dwellings were used to record the animals that were important, in ancient paintings, a way of letting future generations know how important animals are, so we never forget and keep vigilant in all we do. God had great insight into man and his daily needs though all the generations and here we are today in a very challenging time for all our animals as well as all our people. As my quote reads " As they go so go we" so all the changes in our environment are indeed telling all of us to take better care of our earth. As an artist, I paint in Artisan Oils all the birds of Crex Meadows Wildlife Area as the seasons come and go and when observing these birds over the past 20 years, there are definitely changes in behavior and warning signs. As a painter I have learned birds and their ways are really our " Inner Strength" as this sandhill crane painting is titled. I want future generations to view my painting and see all this majestic beauty in God's creations and to always want to protect this sacred gift. Remember " As They Go So Go We" have a great day and save a bird. Thx be.

My Art and A Dog's Friendship Matters

In my daily life and how things really worked for the past twelve years here in NW WI, living near Grantsburg, WI where Crex Meadows Wildlife Area is located this is where I spend many hundreds of hours a year in all seasons doing my wildlife photography which I then use in my Artisan Oil painting. DEpending on the season, time of day it was easy to spend over 4 hours and now since Bubba passed last Sept 18, my favorite dog companion no longer rides on each trip like in the past twelve years. I asociated all my work clearly and when Bubba was with me on each trip we saw plenty of dynamic images to photograph and he sat on his chair in the back seat of my F-150 pickup looking out his own window enjoying all the wildlife too, and I went abbout shooting my images to use later in my original Artisan oils painting. My work today is in his honor too, On April 16, 2016 we were in Crex Meadows and saw these Trumpeter Swans. I remember the day perfectly and he sat in his position on his chair watching them fly by while I shot their images. We still had snow and ice on the water and the oak trees still clung to their old fall leaves. The trumpter swans flying so tightly together gave me goose bumps  as most people are not aware trumpeter swans have soul twins and mate for life so very much like people and they raise their young with same love as people. I thank God every day for Bubba and his very loving ways and as I continue to paint and develop new work I an still using my images those i took while he was in my presence. Thank u you Lord.

Titled " Chang E Ben Yue" Chinese Goddess of Moon

In my recent research of China's lore about the moon and this past month on July 20, 1969 was the commemoration of the Apollo 11 moon landing, my experience witnessing sandhill cranes returning to Crex Meadows, to roost, on November 2, 2014 about 5PM, but this reminds me the moon has many very symbolic relationships with all people all over the world. China's modern moon space program is named Chang e continuing their ancient tradition and love for the secrets of the moon. IN some years is called a blue moon period where there are 13 full moons in twelve months, the last blue moon period was in 2015. IF a season has 4 full moons the 3 rd full moon is called the blue moon and May 18, 2019 was a blue moon.

In today original Artisan oils on 9" x 12" x 3/4" I used a unique color palette to create this unique look and atmosphere. My sky is not a pure blue but is made mixing ultramarine blue and alizarin crimson with zn white, the zn white is used because is transparent and not opaque like titanium white. The sandhill cranes since light is behind them is a dark blue violet in a silhouette form and the moon is a blue violet for the darker values and titanium white for the luminous bright areas.

Stay tuned this next week for more blog pots as i continue to share my painting stories and their beautiful images. Thx be.
