Guardians Guardians

We need Nature's Guardians

Today for all our families celebrating Mother's Day I wish all of you great love, joy and piece....for those of you who have recently or long ago, lost your mom I send peace and love to you too. God has given each of our mom's a mandate for life of love and devotion for her children. A mother is God in skin and bone, for all our families I am sending you best wishes and many more Happy Mother's Days.

As most of you are aware if you have been staying close to my art career starting in 1991, my genre is made up original oil paintings of primarily birds and wildlife as seen in USA, mostly our State Parks, Wildlife Areas and National Parks too. I do all my own images using my Nikon equipment and then after processing on Photshop CC, create an original print using my Epson Surecolor Printer. This helps to guide my work after sketching and is used as a color guide along with my memory too. I do not enhance or alter my images so each painting is close to authentic as possible.

In my blog post today, I am celebrating the success in USA, the USFWA of bringing the Trumpeter Swan back so that can be delisted off the Endangered Species List. In 2009 we all celebrated this gala event when they were removed from the endangered species list, and to date the key has been everyone working together to create prime, unaltered habitat and too, no hunting. Most people I speak with do not want to ever see hunting of the Trumpeter Swan. Our Whooping Cranes today do face extinction too, with only slightly over 600 in USA, about 110 here in Wisconsin and the rest in Rock Port Texas Area. Most of this was caused by man, by over hunting and almost went too far to bring them back, today there are many dangers these birds face and the future for these birds is not certain at all.

This past spring in early March before the ice and snow went out, these Trumpeter Swans returned to Crex Meadows Wildlife Area in Grantsburg, WI and as you can notice they are thinking about Spring, mating and raising new baby Cygnets. They are today's constant reminder of a very dangerous past, they are our ' Guardians " to show us the right ways and to abide in all safe uses of our water, land and not to make that mistake with other wildlife. Thanks to God and many dedicated people our birds live and prosper. Amen!!!
